防災士の基本理念・・・協働・・・市民、企業、自治体、防災機関等が協力して活動する。
日頃から、地域の防災コミュニティの形成に積極的に参加し、防災・減災に関わる多様な組織、団体との連携を心掛けるとともに、地域に密着した防災意識の啓発、防災訓練等の活動を通じて、お互いに顔の見える関係をつくり上げ、災害に対する事前の備えがある地域社会づくりに貢献します。
また、大規模災害被災地への救援・支援活動については、「助け合いの精神」のもと、可能な範囲で同志を募り、ボランティア活動を行うことが期待されます。
